R.O.O.T.S.™ is my proprietary training system that focuses on understanding your dog rather than just commanding them. It stands for: Relationship (connection before correction), Observation (reading your dog's body language), Origins (honouring breed instincts), Temperament (customizing to your dog's personality), and Surroundings (setting up your environment for success). Instead of making your dog obey, I create a partnership where they choose to listen because they trust you.
I use science-based, positive reinforcement methods. No punishment, harsh corrections, shock collars, or outdated "dominance" techniques. Training should strengthen your bond with your dog, not damage it.
I don't work with aggression cases. However, I do help with fear-based reactivity, leash reactivity, anxiety, and resource guarding—which are often mistaken for aggression but have very different root causes.
I work with puppies as young as 8 weeks old through adult dogs of any age. I specialize in:
• New puppy training (biting, potty training, jumping)
• Leash reactivity and pulling
• Fearful and anxious dogs
• Excessive barking
• Door manners and recall issues
• Resource guarding
• Crate training
All sessions take place in your home in North York or the Greater Toronto Area. This is where your dog lives, so it's where the training needs to happen. I’ll also work with you on walks if leash behaviour is part of your goals.
Every dog is different. Most puppy programs show significant progress within 4–6 weeks. Behavioural issues like reactivity or anxiety typically take 8–12 weeks, depending on the severity and consistency of practice. The key is: I’m not training your dog—I’m training you to work with your dog. The more you practice, the faster you’ll see results.
Yes! My methods are designed for busy people. You don’t need hours a day—just 10–15 minutes of focused practice plus smart management strategies that fit into your routine.
Most traditional training focuses on obedience without addressing why your dog is behaving a certain way. My approach gets to the root cause. I’m not just suppressing behaviours—I’m changing how your dog feels and thinks. That’s why the results last.
In addition to our sessions, I’ll provide my Signature Blueprints, which offer a clear, step-by-step roadmap for the most common struggles like door-dashing and leash pulling.
Yes! In fact, I encourage it. Consistency is key, so the more family members who understand the training, the better. Kids can participate too (with supervision).
The first step is a free 15-minute Discovery Call. This is a relaxed chat where I’ll discuss your dog’s challenges and see if my heart-led approach is the right fit. From there, I’ll decide if a one-time Strategy Session or a full Transformation Program is the fastest path to help you.
